Dalí's face in three stages, from top to bottom. The first is drawn in bright colours that refer to Dalí's own paintings; the colour then drains away, and the last face is a grey skull. The sequence follows the path of Goya's work, from the light, colourful paintings of his youth to the dark paintings of his last years.
